My choice of fruit just happened to be apples, raspberries, and strawberries, but you can choose any you want. Strawberries are usually a staple for me, I add apples for extra sweetness, and raspberries for a variation.
Just a heads up, this recipe is NOT for canning. There is a different, slightly more complex version that I’ll probably post on in the future. This is for serving the day-of. Also, I think it’s just amazing how the red color is basically sucked out of the strawberries and raspberries, so cool!
Enjoy this drink anytime, anywhere!
- 1 cup strawberries
- 1 cup raspberries
- 1/2 of an apple *roughly chopped
- 1-2 liters water
- 1/2 cup sugar
- juice of 1/2 a lemon
Bring the water and sugar to a boil, then add in the strawberries, raspberries, and apple. Boil for around 20 minutes, or until desired color/saturation of flavor.
Stir in the lemon juice and serve the same day. Enjoy!
You can substitute lemon juice with a pinch of citric acid.
